Childbirth is not just a medical or physical experience; it is part of a miraculous spiritual process that allows the soul to come into biological embodiment. Birth is a spiritual transition in which an energetic connection takes place. There is a beautiful connection work, or spiritual midwifery, which can assist the parent in connecting with the incoming child.
A spiritual birth assistant, called an Adoula, acts as a birth connector between the parent or parents and the unborn baby. The Adoula works with expectant parents to develop a deeper, and more spiritual and energetic connection with their incoming child long before the actual delivery takes place. Thus, the entire pregnancy process and physical birthing can be smoother and more fulfilling.
